RicW 67
Fish hunter is definantly better than a barnett the flatbands can put out 13 pounds per foot of power. Takes a bit of getting used to especially if you're used to a wrist brace but afterwards its easy. ATB Jordan 13ft.lbs? That's FAC level in an air rifle! Ric
sambam 8
yea iv heard they can go up to 18 ft.lbs which is amazing

sambam 8
hi paddywack marbles shud be ok for ammo mabey a bit to big but dont worry about it what catty are you using as different types might need a different style of shootin as for tips on how to use a catty ill tell you how i do it and im no expert at all hold the catty in your weak hand and hold on the side then keep your weak arm locked use your strong hand to pull back, line the top fork onto the target and i try and move my wrist slightly to line the band up to the top fork as always you need practice and more practice mabey someone might tell us a different and better way but thats what has worked for me in the past hope that helps sam Edited November 24, 2009 by sambam
paddywack 3
thanks for that Sam, could not tell you what make it is I brought it from a game fair, that is the sort of method I try to use however I proberly need to practice more, just thought I would be able to hit anything straight away, what kind of distance is acceptable to be fairly accurate but still leathal
sambam 8
what style of catty is it paddywack as if its a hunter catty there apparently realy powerful so range and kill ability would be better than my widow i dont realy know about range but would imagin it would be about the same as n air rifle so say about 35 yard or so. but i try and get as close as possible only had a squirrel since iv been taking it out with the pup but in my youth id try and take anything and was alot better shot
yeeharr 41
Keep your range to 10 yards and then push it to 15 yards. 20 yards is doable but you can't hit and kill consistantley at airgun ranges. Sure people pull off shots at silly ranges but we're talking about hunting and grouping well. If you can hit the bottom of a coke can at a given range 8 times out of 10 then that's your hunting range. Even the best miss but you'll hit more game if you keep things close.
