Stuart O Connor 1
Small alright ! Depends on what you want it to do like , but it should be fast enough to take fox on the lamp like. They look racey for a first x . Quote Link to post
hogdog 61
I can tell you what times some of the dogs do lure coursing at the Southern Athletic Canine Society???? The records for the 100m... Running dog class...whippet - 6.50 seconds Under 18" class... Staffordshire Bull Terrier - 8.68 seconds Over 18" class... Staffordshire x Old English bulldog - 8.13 seconds We have a Staffordshire x Whippet compete that is around 21"tts and 50lb and she does the 100m in 7.50 seconds so about halfway between the Staffordshire's and Whippet's times. I think I'd rather have her than a pure Whippet for coursing just because she's a little bit more robust and still plenty fast enough for most people's needs. P.S I know of dogs that do the 100m in over 9 seconds that regularly pick up rabbits so they don't have to be lightening quick to do the job on rabbits.
