Dan Edwards 1,134
I think a Dogo x Deerhound would be fantastic on coyotes. It'd be nice to actually be able to catch the coyote before they jacked. Quote Link to post
j1985 1,984
I can't see why a well bred Dogo x wouldn't work well on larger quarry. Here's my performance/standard bred AB pup, he was hanging off a muntjac earlier today at 8 months old....Not all Ab's in the UK are crappers but as I attend a few shows I would say that a big portion of what I see are absolutely foooked and couldn't catch a cold. Here's his ped. He's got bosshog, ouija, snowbird & Hoghammer aswell as most other well known hogdogs in his ped. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/dogs/american_bulldog/pedigree/5/932525.html Quote Link to post
j1985 1,984
AB x Dogo from texas iirc. Both hunt really well, the cross was done to clean up the dogo using AB blood apparently lol.....that must have pissed a few folk off!!! Quote Link to post
fresh earth 47
tell you what the white dog in the back of the pickup its a dam monster stunning big dog seen some handy dogo's but have also seen some crap around nowadays tbh its as said like every breed there are good and bad and always some freeks of nature personaly i would stick with what we have no point in more unwanted mongrels being passed around to idiots if 5 people want a dogo cross and 3 of them line a greyhound to achieve that there could be potentualy 30 pups of whitch 20 are then left and then if its a 3/5 grey dogo they are after thats potentualy 10 litters of 10 so theres 100 eventualy there is going to need to be laws against breeding any dog stick with a bullx unless you intend traveling to truly work the dog and i dont mean round britain . j1985 1,984
what about a grey x painter line ambull? that would be some dog. Probably wouldn't be as good as using a good well tested AB from hunting lines like hines/stout/dorsey/kinghaven etc. They are all the same size and equally as tough..painters aren't really known for their hunting ability and to be honest I don't think you can get them pure anymore. But If I was going to do a grey x AB it would be with one from a hunting line where the males are all under 90lbs at least. I want to get my boy over into Europe when he's a bit older to get him tested on hogs, he's out of pure hogdog lines so he's got to be at least a little good at it lol!!! Quote Link to post
