Another early morning....

Recommended Posts

Well after been practically house bound due to heavy rain this last few weeks, i decided it was time to hit the stalking grounds,

Headed of at 4-50 Am for the long drive, My stalking mate driving this time clapper.gif It was looking like it was going to be a cracking

morning, Arrived at the first grounds slightly before dawn, a little to late as most of the deer had scarpered back into the forrest.

After checking the wind we walked up the long narrow lane, and spotted a doe and calf in the middle of the field, the wind had changed to variable, and the doe winded us and made of narking loudly...icon_eek.gif

We made our way quickly to the height in the field a little rocky outcrop which gives the scope of the rest of the field,

As we knew any deer left in the very bottom of the field would be making their way up pronto....

Sure enough 2 young bucks made their way up the field sharpish, and i ranged them as they crossed a little right away from us at 140 yards, my mate also ready, shouted and couldn't get them to stop, i gave the scope a few clicks and set up for 200 yards

i roared at the top of my voice and the first buck stopped dead to look, whistling.gif

the scope quickly found the middle of his neck, And i squeezed of the round...... followed by THUMP, instantly dropping him on the spot, the other buck bounded off, and i ranged for my mate at 280 yards he suddenly stopped to look to see what was going on...

chest shot from my mate connected the heart lung area with the 6.5, he ran about 20 yards and dropped,

i ranged the buck i shot at 194 yards..... It was really good just to get out and get my lungs filled with some fresh air, and put my cares to the back of my mind even for just a few hours....

heres the buck..........
