had to have a toe removed last year,,,didnt want to at 1st,,gave dog plenty rest ,,brought him back ,,the problem came back time and time again,,,wasted almost a year with his toe,,,so i got it tooken off, if iam honest i should have done it sooner,,,they say 6 weeks and dog,s running about again after op,,mine took more 10weeks

what i would say gettin toe wasnt cheap,,,the x ray bumps it up a bit,,i was ok cos this dog has cover,,( if its possible to avoid a xray,,,as toe,s broken anyhow,,,and gettin tooken off anyhows ,,might safe u a few pennys ( if thats what u decide to do

here,s a pic off foot,,,front foot as well,,,,

hi mate just give it 6 weeks rest , what i have done in the past is to line toe in the correct position putting cotton wool under his pad and a bit off lint in between the broken toe and the one next to it then strap it up, by having a toe of the one next to it is under a lot of pressure, i have had running dogs for nearly 40 years had a few broken toes never had one taken off, a knocked up toe is worse than a broken one

stevie ive had this in the past, and have seen mates dogs break toes loads of times.if its broke get it off, if its dislocated and there is a lot of swelling then thats good .the blood will form a callust and he will be ready in 6 weeks.what ever you do dont get caught up in the old wives tale that cutting the nail right back to the toe heals it quicker.if there is not a lot of swelling and its dislocated ,get it pin fired.your big mate will tell you where to go and get that done properly.
