Poacher Alarm.

Just been looking at this on Ebay, not seen one before, I've only ever seen the home made scare traps that gamekeepers used to make with a cut down shotgun cartridge, its unusual in that it points away from the trespasser, anyone else seen these before?

you can get the trap which has a pin with a shotgun shell under it and rope ties to it when the rope is pulled pin drops and hits the shell and it goes off

Yep! thats the type I've seen where it fires a blank or cut down, I just thought this was a nice item, something for the expert poacher catcher of old

There were lots of different alarms made in the UK in years gone by for this purpose.

 

The one on eBay is French, as most that turn up these days are. Someone obviously fell in love with the last one he sold as it went for over 400 quid - I have picked them up for a tenner in the past!
