heshimus 1
hi guys, in my humble opinion you'll , like someone said having a lots of headache if you don't have time to work them. about the crossing you want to do it depends if the dog is really good or not. i have both jagds and patts and i don't believ that anyone as lack of anything. one is specialized in one thing, the other is far more versatile but i have discovered that patterdales have an excellent nose. good luck with them and i hope the jagd make the grade. in spain they are used for fox hunting, not much time trials but hard work. i bought one female for 250€ from a guy from the working association, with all the papers. she's got 5 months and she likes going into the earths. she is a very nice looking terrier. don't cross my mind crossing with patt, here it usually cross with the wire fox from working dogs. bets regards Edited November 8, 2009 by heshimus Quote Link to post
Waz 4,266
THE WORLD IS FLAT! Does make me laugh, but it does seem that if someone dares to try or do something different then,,,,,,,,,,,,, I bet the fellas who first went to the time and expense of bringing bulldogs from across the water got the same flack, (ok maybe in some cases it was deserved! LOL). The guy who bought some airedales back from North America got stick. Human nature I suppose, good things and the not so good things. Pats I hope you have luck on getting what you want and dont get 'sold a pup'. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly. I'd be interested in your opinions once youve formed a few. Start stock training early, dont want to teach you to suck eggs, just save a few tears! Might get one meself, for above ground work, new circumstances means more hunting Quote Link to post
heshimus 1
don't cross my mind crossing with patt, here it usually cross with the wire fox from working dogs. referring to crossing the jagdterrier with wired foxterrier from working stock (there a few over here), not patterdale. in the southwest european countries its an common cross with good results in hunting work. even so, its more of the same and in some cases wrong case of bad breeding. here there is alot of crossed mutts, some good some bad... keep it real, keep it simple! best regards Quote Link to post
