just got my new rifle and im landed with it mossberg 817 plinkster step up from the airguns lol cant wait to get out with it only thing is on my fac it says for vermin control does that mean i can take foxes because i did say to the fao that i wanted to take them?

This has come up time and time again and the answer is simple, if it says FOX on your FAC, like it does on all my rimfires, and several other peoples as well, then you can take fox.

 

If it says vermin you will never know 100%!!

thanks mate anyway of finding out? i did say that i wanted to take them and he said hed put vermin down cause a fox is vermin

Donk i had the same situation,when i contacted the local plod they emailed me saying vermin includes fox ,however i would contact [bANNED TEXT] local lot just to make sure.

the conditions on my .22 and .223 just says vermin control as thats what my police force class fox as.

The hub of it all is that some police areas regard a fox as vermin and some have it written down as "fox AND vermin". Unless you ask your FLO you will be unsure what side of the law you are on.

Chap..lots of people have done more than 30mph in the limit for years but have simply not been caught......Do you want to be the test case to decide if fox is vermin???

 

There simply isn't a problem...ask your region... or simply make sure the word FOX is written on your FAC

I suspect you are probably right, if anyone had been hauled up for it there would have been some sort of a test case..guilty or innocent, in which case a precident would have been set and the vermin/fox issue settled!!

Agreed, and I can asure you I don't want to be the test case Just trying to put things into perspective. It's the occaisional or more correctly "oportunist" shooter that has this issue. The guy that maybe shoots just 1 or 2 a year, (I'm in this category)

I have a .17hmr ,on my fac it states vermin and fox.
