fensaluki 35
if you have to go right up to her just put here on her lead and take her back mate.dont need to speak to her give her a pat and put her in here kennel for ten mins then go take her out again and give her a fuss. never get on em hard when it comes to recall else youll be fighting a loosing battle fella. only my opinion mate but over the years i've found it to work with most tipes of dogs.....hope it helps Quote Link to post
wee gemm hunter 8
my bitch was 2 in august she was well behaved just a little stubborn at times until last few weeks now she dont listen dont want to come out of the kennel for a walk through the day and when i get her out she runs straight to my mates over a busy main road and wont listen to ne calling her back.she will go lamping no bother though.6 weeks ago she cut her back foot and was out of action for 4 week and she was broke down aswell in that time i got a new pup.the second time i took her lamping after she had recovered she had a fit from then she aint been the same dog, has anyone got any ideas as to what could be wrong with her? i was thinking maybe jealous of the pup or maybe the fit has done something in her head.it has to stop because its not ideal having a dog behaving like this as she wont last long running away over roads Most probably her being in season, makes a lot of bitches do strange things, just like a woman in the menopause Quote Link to post
wild rover 548
You dont mention what you have tried, as you open the door or pen gate tell her to sit, slip the lead on her and control her movements, make the garden secure and let her off, spend a little time sitting in the garden. Do you always take her over to your mates when going out or lamping, if so she may be thinking , lets get cracking and racing over there. You control her when she comes out, dont always let her out and take her out, spend time with her and the pup together playing in the garden, then go back to some basic training, sit , stay and recall, this may help get her out of the mind set she has adopted, do it all with kindness and praise. rickyspringer 15
I have been reading this thread with great interest... I am in a similar situation with my springer bitch, she has become very disobedient whilst out on the walk and won't come near me unless its on her terms, I have come to the conclusion with mine is that its a transition due to havig a new pup and she is playing up, also she is due a season. That makes the lil madames disobediet. I am currently doing exercise with her without any pressure, I am letting her get on with her lil naughty turn because I know she will come out of it with my patience, I must admit when it first begun I was tough on her and she was havig a good ticking off for slow recalls and ranging too far, it does them no good mate, makes them alot worse for it, just take your time with her ad she will come back round, GOOD LUCK and let us know how she improves.
