my dogs started behaving very strange

my bitch was 2 in august she was well behaved just a little stubborn at times until last few weeks now she dont listen dont want to come out of the kennel for a walk through the day and when i get her out she runs straight to my mates over a busy main road and wont listen to ne calling her back.she will go lamping no bother though.6 weeks ago she cut her back foot and was out of action for 4 week and she was broke down aswell in that time i got a new pup.the second time i took her lamping after she had recovered she had a fit from then she aint been the same dog, has anyone got any ideas as to what could be wrong with her? i was thinking maybe jealous of the pup or maybe the fit has done something in her head.it has to stop because its not ideal having a dog behaving like this as she wont last long running away over roads

just a thought,have you been spending more time with pup,she may feel left out,although i don't think that would be the real problem,maybe she is on heat and looking for a dog to mate with.When a bitch comes on heat they are more interested in escaping and getting served by a male(s),does your friend own a male dog?This is the only thing i think it could be,keep us posted,

if she was broke down a few weeks ago and a bit prone to running off is there any chance that a local dog has lined her mate ? I guess you've probably thought of this if its possible but just a thought.

If it was a dog i could understand as dogs sometimes go through funny stages in the head and can be strong head at times, but this is less common in bitches imo, what breeding is the bitch ?

yes Fensaluki may have hit the nail on the head if it's fireworks,the dogs will try to escape,i have a couple here always running away,have to keep them in the house,observe her indoors when fireworks are going off,good luck and hope you find the problem,

she was fine last year with the fireworks she is head srong and has probably got it in her head she hasent got to do as she is told.how is the best way to treat her when i go and get her?if i lose my temper and shout she definatly wont come back or do i praise her and then she might think its ok to wander off and ignor me

she is a saluki, whippet,greyhound x 1/4 bull,3/4 greyhond

i have to go right up his garden and look for her usually find her hiding behind his car shaking so she must know shes done wrong
