andy s410c 61
Well after 7 night shifts of sitting on the M1 at 52mph i was more than ready for a mooch out as were the ferts.Arrived at the bottom quarry 9:30am,bright & no wind, the grafters today were Potch & Amber which were going crackers in the box on the way to the first set of the morning. I started at a hedgerow set, netted up,collared up & put the jill in the old tree stump...1 in the bag however it was on it's last legs with myxi should have knew anyway by the way it walked into the net .Nothing at home further along the hedgerow so off into the quarry i yomped. Netted up a 20 so holer on the "gut" bank...no one at home,so further into the quarry.Netted up 2 sets, nothing from the first but bagged 1 with the hob from the other . I mooched round to do a 2 hole tree set which normally holds a rabbit,on the way i seen a rabbit run towards the set as i approached, just above this set is 2 stop ends so it was a process of elimination to find bugs.I used the jill, nothing in the stop ends but in the 2 holer not 1 but 3 rabbits came out in 5 mins with the jill firing on all cylinders . I did another couple of sets & bagged another 1 with the hob,so ended the day with 5 healthy rabbits.Hopefully be out on Sunday...weather permitting . Quote Link to post
