ellir0305 9
i have been invited to a friend permission which is about 50 miles away for a couple of days hitting the pest population on a veg farm hard. this will entail the stinkers for good hard day on the rabbits as well as some day time and lamping shooting with both the air rifles and the shotties being as there are a lot of problem pheasants on there. anyways as i will be staying over for a couple of days the stinker are going to need some form of temporary accomodation for the duration of the stay as they cant be living in there ferret box for all that time, i was wondering what the best thing would be or if anyone has done a similar thing and sussed it already, the 'house' needs to be fairly compact as they will be out loads and it needs to fit into me other mates hatchback along with all the nets and gear and a selection of firearms. oh yeah and it doesnt need to be overly cost as it will be inside a shed so just secure with room to stretch there paws and relieve themsleves as well as room for there nesting box thanks atb rob Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
A colapsable small animal crate should do you for a couple of nights. They fold flat and you'll only need a small one for a night or two. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
yup, a plastic carrier will do fine, stick a water bottle on it, and bob's ya uncle Quote Link to post
ellir0305 9
yup, a plastic carrier will do fine, stick a water bottle on it, and bob's ya uncle i was just a bit worried about them escaping, but if its been done before i guess thats no problem. i will have to get myself one then because i dont think my mum would be too happy about me knicking the cat's one (unless the smell would come out with bleach?) i was originally thinking about a dog crate or something but i think the meshes might be too big thanks for the help guys. atb rob Quote Link to post
stubby 175
I tried a small dog crate, they were out of it within seconds Im sure bleach would remove any smells, save you buying one Quote Link to post
Tug 168
Problem with a dog crate (the fully folding ones) is that the bars are either big eonough for them to escape, or just not quite big enough in which case you may get a trapped fert. I've got a small hutch that I keep as a holiday home. It's not something that the three of mine can live in comfortably for more than a week but it suffices for "kennels" at a friend or relative's come holiday time. Quote Link to post

ellir0305 9
A small cat carrier finer mesh and if there in a shed it wont really matter my only worry is the small size might mean they shit and eat in the same place and i dont want to be cleaning it out 2 or three times a day Quote Link to post
