flint67 2
hares are not backwards at night time ya know....they put up as good a course as a rabbit You are exactly right . . .just like rabbits, ive seen hares lamped ,( not by my dogs ) it leaves a taste in the mouth . Get on salsbury plains or out on the fens give em 100 yards+ and it can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Alfy , enjoy your hunting , its good to see the next generation , i wish you all the best , we come from different ways thats all, but its not just the fox hunt that have traditions and i would be doing a dis service to the old timers who taught me if i didnt point it out. I was told you lamp deer foxes rabbits but never hares. Also a fox is always he and a hare is always she in conversation, another tradition long gone Edited November 4, 2009 by flint67 Quote Link to post
donk 12
Ive never lamped a hare, say what you like about day walkers, but try to understand that some people love their day time hares. Its not always about getting a picture on here, its the whole thing that goes with walking out with the dogs, maybe putting a hare up,giving it fair law,and then watching your dog do its best against what is arguably the ultimate chase for a dog. Also a fox is always he and a hare is always she in conversation, another tradition long gone i agree ive seen many people say my dog take 3 out of 3 on hare then they come daytime and no good yes they are still hard at night but if you want to see a worth of a dog wait till jan/feb then go to the big fields you will see a difference a major difference i have lamped hares before but never just went out looking for hares alone i think its the same with deers fox rabbits all harder in the day i have no problem with lamping i lamp for the pot so any means just feed me but for anyone to say its just as hard to lamp as it is daytime dont know what your talking about the same with lamping summer time hares leverets completely disrespectfull of the game and out of order a true hunter respects his game Quote Link to post
chris strilciw 1
i must agree with both sides a daytime hare is great to watch but i must say they have more chance at night cause not one of us here can keep up with dog or hare to continue lamping in the next field and the next and the next u see wat im saying in daytime dog can just go it self in night needs to wait for lamp great pics though atb cs Quote Link to post
bigdan 11
what about people driveing the feilds i have lamped hares not 1000's but i have and ive had them run towards the lamp Quote Link to post
