That's a good point... I've had gun dogs and hounds alike that no training agenda or trick I knew could produce a huntable dog out of that particular pup. It's maddening, but some do end up in the discard pile.

Leanne if i was you i would listen to some of these members.. who is more important you or your kids?

you would be heartbroken to give the dog away? what would you be if it bit one of your kids? sounds to

me you have let the dog get away with what ever he does, you might of give him a slap on the face etc

but dogs like that need to be put in there place! hes your dog your not his, its an animal at the end of

the day you should be the boss and incontrol but your not...

you need to be the boss.dont take shit from this pup, dont let him.just let him know your the boss, cant really tell you anymore.i no its easier said than done but if you dont want this pup to walk over you then you need to take over,iv got a 12 month old bullx pup and he is no bother generally, just a bit of a twat when it comes to his retrive but im working on it,i hope it works out for you and he turns out to be the dog you want,if not go with wilfs idea!! atvb

Let me be brutally honest with you Leanne, find the dog a good permanent home with someone who has a clue because you are clearly not cut out for dogs and not all the ticket!

Get a budgie!

;)

And I mean all this in the nicest possible way.

I agree with wilf...

i got bailey a choke lead and he still pulls on it .to the point were he is chocking his self .so i correct him and try and walk the other way and he still pulls

and he nearly passes out becuase he pulls so hard the noise he makes is like hes going to die on the lead .so i kept the lead very firm to my hand and made him walk at my pace so he knows that i am the leader but wetn back to hes old ways and still pulls .i make him sit at the door before i go out becuase he gets very excited and dotn want to take him out to bounce all over on the lead .

another thing he goes out side for wees and poos but also does it in the same spot right in fount of the kitchen door i think he has marked hes place there but how do i stop him weeing and pooing there .

and when we go in the kitchen and get passed bailey he will jump at our backs and bite and snarl for no reason

i think bailey is very strong for a pup and most deftnlyi got bull in him

any advice would be great

i gto him a crate to crate train him and he will not go in it at all he actully goes to bite if we try and when he trys to go in it hes self he bites the cage

Get a fcuking gerbil!!!!

Sounds like you got a liability there, I had a dog put to sleep for growling around my kids

Think about it.

its a shame your not getting what you desserve from your dog as it sounds like you give a toss but hes turning into a liability(dangerouse).get something more suitable and let the dog have what it deserves a knowledgable owner, dont be put off it happens.atb doga.

I could sort the problem in a few days no bother.I dont kick or punch my dogs but if they do wrong they get a good few hidings while they are young and now just a raise of my voice they no when its time to pack in.Some people dont agree with giving a dog a clip but i do.

The story goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on.......................

Leanne it is time to get this dog a suitable home. Concentrate on your kids and get them a wee hamster pet or something that is not a danger to anyone, makes minimal mess and minimal time to care for.

The dangerous dogs act was compiled to include behaviours and not only breeds. section 3 of said act is more relevent to this subject.

I have worked dogs for years, Protection and patrol Dogs. Lurchers and more recently terriers, not an expert, not with hunting dogs, but i know enough to achieve what i need.

Like it or not some dogs are just cnuts, Fair play to you for having good dogs, it aint always the case. We might not all be long in the tooth country folk, but some of us do have different perspectives.
