mally 832
Just got back from Charpolski's a day late as i was in bed allday yesterday with food poisoning!!! Many thanks to Dogs and natives for letting us run on his land, and thanks also to LDR for being a sporting gent. To say i was feeling rough is an understatement, Charpolski and i went out for our lunch and it must have been a dodgy steak as i was starting to throw up halfway though the heat. Anyway i soldiered on and vixen started to pick a few more up, at one point we were 4 behind but Vixen made a couple of good catches to bring it back to just 2 behind. By this time i was feeling like shite at one point LDR had to grab me from falling back off a drystone wall, the 18amp battery pack and gravity wanted to pull me back the way i was coming from and i just didn't have the strength to pull myself up lol. It got to us having just 20 minutes left and i was struggling to carry on so i decided to call it a night. From the way bruce was running there was only going to be one winner. He didn't look like he was going to miss a rabbit all night. Vixen did me proud she was running on ground she'd never run on before and i can't fault the way she ran, the rabbits that she did miss she missed with the skin of her teeth. Thanks must also go to Charpolski for putting me and my 2 dogs up for the weekend and for sorting Vixen when i returned from the lamping comp. I just dropped my gear and went to bed. CP washed Vixens feet down, fed her and checked her over for me. I was still rough on Sunday and he sorted both dogs for me.. Thanks for a good night out, i'll be in the comp next year without a doubt cheers Mally Quote Link to post

Cheers. well done mate fair play for putting him up and sorting the dog s out nice one. People don't see what goes on behind the scenes in this competition..... friendships being made, friendships being renewed, good night out being had, etc. Mally and his two dogs stayed at my house for a few days for his heat; he put me and my brother and THREE dogs up for four days when I had my heat with The Bolt, and put on some good sport for us ! When I ran The Bolt, his mate, Farmer1, took my brother out for a nights lamp, they had never met or even spoke to each other before that night. Top lads ! Other friendships have been made between entrants in last years comp and this years; I hope the comp continues for many years ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
