cookie 2 8 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 ive just getting a lurcher pup 4 month old and am new to the lurcher scene so i was wondering what sort of training should i be doin now or is she too young. i took mine out with the lamp and a toy wrappped in a rabbit skin throw it a round the field put the lamp on it drag it around with lamp on it worked for my pup mate he's 10 month now and he watches the lamp Quote Link to post Share on other sites

johnbhoy 1 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) get the dog use to you first. just do the basic training the now and a bit of dummy work. drop rabbits are a long way away yet mate. a done a lot of dummy work with my dog and its paid of so a would suggest that but dont over do it. just take your time tho. theres a few people on this that will help you out if you ever get get stuck. hope it turns out well atb john Edited November 1, 2009 by johnbhoy Quote Link to post Share on other sites

lukeh 27 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 theres a lot of different opinions on what age to start etc i always get it into them from 6 month old just taking em out even if its ferreting or just bushing with another dog .. dropped rabbits are good for confidence [bANNED TEXT] .. just take your time and dont rush it then u will have a gd dog if you put the effort in all the best Quote Link to post Share on other sites
