Advice wanted on training a lurcher

ive just getting a lurcher pup 4 month old and am new to the lurcher scene so i was wondering what sort of training should i be doin now or is she too young.

i took mine out with the lamp and a toy wrappped in a rabbit skin throw it a round the field put the lamp on it drag it around with lamp on it worked for my pup mate he's 10 month now and he watches the lamp ;)

best thing ive ever done mate is try and get him out with a good dog and let them watch thats always been the best for me ... but your obvious basic obedience first

yeah thats what i was hoping to do . i was told to get some drop rabbits too. how old does she need to be for them would you say .

Hi mate .If its your first time training a dog get a good book and take it from there.Not saying it will all work out fine but it will give you an under standing of the basic,s needed to bring the dog on.atb. Catcher :thumbs:

BEARINATOR is goin to sent me a DVD Purdys Progress said that should give me some idea .

get the dog use to you first. just do the basic training the now and a bit of dummy work. drop rabbits are a long way away yet mate. a done a lot of dummy work with my dog and its paid of so a would suggest that but dont over do it. just take your time tho. theres a few people on this that will help you out if you ever get get stuck. hope it turns out well

theres a lot of different opinions on what age to start etc i always get it into them from 6 month old just taking em out even if its ferreting or just bushing with another dog .. dropped rabbits are good for confidence [bANNED TEXT] .. just take your time and dont rush it then u will have a gd dog if you put the effort in all the best
