inan 841
Went to the farm i got last week for a bit of ferreting, picked me dad up about 6.15am,10mins later we was watching rabbits running into their warrens.First warren had about 9 holes,so what we did was as we was doing the whole hedge we purse netted all the way down it,in case any rabbits escaped they would be backnetted else where(I forgot the longnets ).So nets down, ferrets in and waited less then 1 min a rabbit hits the net,in less then 10 mins we had five rabbits out of this warren .Onto the next warren ferrets in and waited, suddenly double WHOOSH and two rabbits hit the nets at the same time, running over to get them another bolts as well, scrambling over i got all three i shouts to me dad to get over here as there was rabbits still thumping underground.Dispatched the ones in the nets as my dad set the nets over the holes, suddenly one bolts into a net on the other side of the fence so instead of going through the gate which was yds away i decided to jump the barbed wire fence, very bad idea I flew over it with my right leg then for reasons know only to its self my left leg decided not to jump,i hit the top strand of wire which sent me spinning legs over head and about to land face down into the ground,i some how managed to turn around in mid air and landed on my back with a thud and my leg tangled in the barbed wire,i grabs the rabbit while laying on my back which is doing a great job with its back legs scratching my hands,so i shouted my dad again who could not stop laughing he untangled my leg which was bleeding quite bad by this time,my jeans were ripped to shreds, looks like a trip to oxfam for some new ferreting jeans .So back to the car to sort my leg out, where was my first aid kit, thats right at home so out came the emergancy bog roll stopped the bleeding and carried on with the ferreting.Next warren ferrets and four rabbit out.Started to get a bit warm by the so we did a little 3 hole set and managed 2 rabbits out of it.So we picked the nets up and set of home where the good lady attended to my leg,FECK ME it hurt don't know what it was she put on it but it felt like acid she just said stop being mardy So finished the day on 15 rabbits, well 14 adults and 1 little 'un . A few pics. The hedge we did. First set of the day. Second set of the day.My dad waiting for a bolt. Which soon comes.A double WOOSH. My dad with the last rabbit of the day,he enjoyed himself today. END OF DAY SHOT. And my poorly leg, they may only look like scratchs but bloody hell they bled. No pain ,no gain ,but look at all the memories of days out with you and your dad you are storing up Quote Link to post

MR TEA POT 1,287
you have done it again reduced me to fits of laughter , your dads a bloody star how long did it take him this week to get the end of day shot Don't even go there KAY By the time he had finished his pork pie and i had cleaned the rest of it off the camera,he managed to take a pic first go BUT he was still laughing abit so the first attempt was a bit shakey . I went to the local shop this morning and i had people asking me how my leg is,could not keep it to himself even if his life depended on it .But i will agree he is a star,he makes me laugh so much. Like the time when the workmen were digging the road up outside his house he said"they was using a JVC i think he meant JCB . INAN your right about the memories,i think we will both remember this day for a few years to come . THEONE you are right about them jeans,i bought a new pair today from a charity shop £4.00 bargain, see how long these last Quote Link to post
