gonetoearth 5,144 Posted October 31, 2009 Report Share Posted October 31, 2009 most teams playin there rivals (man u. last week) raise there game, so today it was back down to earth with a bang after there win last week gave liverpool fans a real glimmer they had turned there run off defeats round, i think losin gerrard would effect any team but you proved last week you can play and win without him, maybe too many players not allowed to express themselves with the way benitez sets the team up to play, will say carragher every game i see him play could be red carded think he is still ok but not the player he was 3 yrs ago, though he would run through a brick wall for the team, i think benitez has spent alot of money so its his team out there every week, but last yrs fiasco involvin robbie keane makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes, obviously somethin isnt right . i think if you dont win premiership this season benitez will be gone. jasper65 6 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 It was a good result for the scousers last sunday and I for one expected them to come out the blocks now and fire upto the tops of the table, Beating UTD always fires them up but this time the sparks not there!! looking at the team it seems they need more strength in depth and rely far too much on a couple of star players... Last year UTD did the same and lost to the scousers playing pretty poor across the board.. then the inevitable happend we stormed to the top and won the Premiership , you can see the same pattern happening this year all over again... UTD seem to be past masters of playing shite in some matches but still running away with a point or 3! sometimes they don't look pretty but grind out a result.... One more thing!! gnasher16 30,220 Posted November 1, 2009 Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) Its so easy for folk to lose their cool when a string of bad form or bad results come along.....but the reality is there is very little to choose between around 10/12 teams in the premier league,who will probably not win it any time soon,but also will not be relegated any time soon....liverpool being one of them.........so it really cant be a massive shock that they have a bad run from time to time....i think this run proves how much liverpool miss gerrard....but i find this moaning about benitez ridiculous......too much emphasis these days is put on managers....i would bet my bollocks liverpool will still end up top 5 this year.....same as the last few and probably the same as the next few years Edited November 1, 2009 by gnasher16 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

He has been allowed to build his own team and that is what he has done. Its true that rafa has improved your league position year on year but that just makes it worse doesnt it ? A manager who bought 50 or 60 crap players , left you with 1 striker and nearly won the league. Crouch is scoring bellamy is scoring keane is scoring and michael owen was available for free.
