wboulter 3
what i do is skin the head then place the skined head in a old pot or saucpan boil it for half hour or so get the power washer on it this take most of the meat of the skull then i use a knife to get the stubborn bits of once it clean use proxiced to bleach the skull which is left on for half hour then washed of and left to dry you can cut the skull if you want to i would do this be for you boil it as it get s a bit brittle once boiled hope this helps Quote Link to post
Guest dances
bury it for a few months, clean it then bleach it Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Either of the above work! If you bury it be prepared for a long wait unless you find the right soil! And watch out for the squirrels as they tend to gnaw away at the antlers! Boiling can also be a bit time consuming fiddly and smelly, remove as much as possible before! You can also simply hang it in a convenient tree (at the right time of year), you would be amazed how quickly the flies/maggots take it apart! Probably some evil chemical treatment available as well! Have fun! Quote Link to post
woollyback 0
Have a look at this mate. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...leaching+skulls I personally boil the head in water with a dash of washing powder for around 20mins, then scrape off all of the meat with a blunt knife (thin nosed pliers are useful too) once clean I paint on hydrogen peroxide cream then wrap in cling film and leave it overnight, wash the skull off next morning then its ready for the wall.
