chippy28 1
Hi I have moved to a house with outside space from a flat with none, and am making a large hutch and run to move my ferrets into. So that they can have more space to run about. Has anyone got any advice on how to make this transition as smooth as possible? Quote Link to post
Leeview 791
Ferrets being ferrets will just be too busy exploring their new surroundings to probably even notice you've moved Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
max abell 196
Give them as much room as you can spare in your garden and try if poss to put a little wire aviary attatched to the cage with pipes etc The skys the limit really it depends what room you have to spare it can never be to big GOOD LUCK WITH IT MATE Quote Link to post
Guest shadowz
Much room as possible and move them outside very very soon so they can get used to the cold weather before it gets to freezing point - will give them a chance to grow a winter coat before the frost set in. Quote Link to post
The one 8,470
You might need to pck the bed compartment of the hutch with shavings etc but i doubt it heat bothers them more than the cold Quote Link to post
jacrabbit 0
I would defiantly give them some warm bedding at night like a fleece and something they can snuggle in to. Quote Link to post
chippy28 1
Thanks for all the advice. I am sure that the ferrets will have a great time in their new home. Quote Link to post
Quixote 9
As mentioned already, ferts tolerate the cold very well. Just make sure that their sleeping compartment's draught-free & you'll have no problems Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
The only thing you need to worry about is the position of the hutch, just make sure its shaded from wind and the mid day sun and you should be fine Quote Link to post
