iceman001979 1,316
look like the vet did a great job. u will not know if she is going be the same dog until a few months when she as her 1st few runs if she can turn on that leg .have a dog did the same could run just as fast on the straight and turning right but when she turned lift she would get threw out so much and put so much strain on her left leg after a night lamping she would always lift that leg so l never thought it was fair on her so l just used her around holes with the terriers. what did help her was swimming. greyhound man over beside me has a whirl pool and charges £8 for 20 mins twice a week dog is better then ever would look into it if l was u best luck with the dog keep us update with pics Quote Link to post

Guest little lurcher
so sorry to hear this , may i suggest giving her some arnica tablets to help with the bruising , also lavender oil will stop her licking stitches , these worked with my bitch whom has just spent time in the same vets ( very posh isnt it) im guessing it was at 6mile bottom specialist vets good luck to you both for a quick recovery Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
So glad you had her insured: was it a clean break? If it was then there's no reason why she shouldn't run again fine. Another remedy to give her on top of the arnica is Comfrey, which is sometimes known as Knitbone as it is supposed to help bones heal better and faster. Give her some of that as well: you never know! Available in tabs from health food shops etc Quote Link to post
mooshka 22
I was gutted to receive your txt the other day about your little jazz... so sorry for you and sincerely hope that Jazz makes a complete recovery. Vit B6... I had a lurcher taken to Cambrige from Norwich 15 years ago for a jaw wiring after a smash... they were great.. I think Jazz has had some of the best treatment Good luck..
