Battery power??

Recommended Posts

i have just started lamping and noticed that the batteries i have seem to run out in about an hour or so. they are 12V 7Ah. they had been lying since they were new until i used them. would the fact that they were lying cause them to run out quickly or is it because they're 7Ah. would i be better to buy a 20Ah. i no nothing about power or electric but im guessing the 20Ah would be better? what would most of you use? cheers

Ive got Lithium battery, and it is great. Used for lazer light [50wt] and striker [100wt] lamps ,been out about[ 5] hours with both and its a great battery, dead light so you could walk longer if you wanted?

thanks for all the replies. i was thinking that it was something to do with the power. i was thinking about getting the lithium battery but its a bit dear for me just starting out specially since i was given the 2 7Ah batteries :)

i have looked again at the deben lithium battery and is says its 10Ah. but with the different technology does this mean that this will last longer than cell batteries?? i think what i'm asking is would i be better to pay £150 for the lithium battery or between £80 and £100 for the 14 - 20 Ah old type batteries?

thanks again for replies and the link ;)

Hi Caol_Ann - There's no way you would need to pay£80-£100 for 12V 20Amp old type battery. Check out the seller that I got my battery from on EBay in my last post....

"Hi, I got a 12V 14A battery for the lamp for a good price on e-bay £20 + £6 p&p. I don't think you would need much more than 14A for lamping, unless you plan on staying out all night!....anyway link to ebay item below:-

p.s. I got a 12V 14Amp for £26 that does me fine but they do ALL types of battery. They deliver fast too, couple of days and mines had been delivered.

12v 20ah golf trolly batterys are good, I have 1 and it lasts 2 full nights on my Blitz 240.

That Battery was £29.99 from ebay inc P+P, I had to buy a bag £3.50 inc P+P to carry it and a charger £19.95 inc P+P. The lot stands me in £53.44. It has more than enough power and although it is reasonably heavy (5.5kg) I can carry it no problem all night long.
