whip x grey 276
what chance does the rabbit have with four dogs in my eyes a pointless activity. CAN YOU NOT READ HE JUST SAID HE BROUGHT TWO YOUNG AND TWO OLD DOGS FOR TO SHOW THE YOUNG DOGS THE ROPES!!!!!!!!! 4 dogs.. i noticed there was abit off greff,,,on 4 dogs chasing one rabbit,,,,,,,,,,and in ur defence,,,,u had 2 adults and 2 pups,,,,,and it,s interily up to u how u train ur pups and iam ingreement on a adult dog showing the younger dog,,how its done i for one will never be an expert on how to train dog,s,,,,,and i normally will only race dog,s cos thats what suits me,at momment,,,,,,not that iam not from hunting back ground,,,,,i,e gun dogs /whippets /greys/lurcher,s,,,gamekeeping , trapping ( wotever mostly in the past now) but i always thought it better for pup,s to learn one on one with the adult dog ,,,,rather than 2 with 2,,,as prevoius pic show,s,,,,,,,so u can see easysier how each pup is coming along,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but then having having said that dog,s can be pack animals,,,,and from what i can see thats a pack working toghter but i have 3 racing dogs,,,and if 2 of them both caught the same rabbit ,,,fair enough i could live with that,,,,but if 3 got there chops round the same rabbit i cant help feeling that not sport,,,,,,i guess its each to there own i suppose,,,,,at least ur out there hunting and doing what u love Quote Link to post
labsnlurchers 39
As you said, each to their own. The way we train and work our dogs suits them and suits us. They do well and are quite well know in our area, most of our permission is as a result of the reputation of our dogs and results that we and our hunting partners get. They are by no means the best but they do us just fine and the enjoyment we get from working showing and racing them is worth a million. Edited October 31, 2009 by labsnlurchers Quote Link to post
