artic 595
I bought some Grub boots with vibram soles for £50 and they're superb, although a bit too warm at times ! Got sick of chucking money into Chameaus, they are utter crap ! Those Grub boots look comfy too. Looks like most decent brands are using the Vibram soles.

stealthy1 3,964
Walking boots from Millets, £50, water proof, had them two years, still sound as a pound, and warmer than wellies
tdavepat 8
Cheap wellies for me. Put a decent insole in them and when the sole is punctured on barbed wire for about the third time during a season, throw them away and get another pair. I tried all the expensive ones and was thoroughly pissed off when I felt my feet getting wet after a couple of weeks. They are too soft and are mainly for walking and not climbing over barbed wire. I would dearly love to find a pair of strong comfortable boots that would keep my feet dry whenever I was wading through 6 inch deep mud or fields chewed up by cattle hooves or tractors. Dave Sounds like you need carrier bags inside wellies! I wonder if im asking for to omuch out of a boot/wellie. I wear boots for digging & prefer steel toe caps, its the sole that takes the most stick, & wellies for following hounds, but everyone uses barb wire around here as if its free. harrycatcat 31
I use these I think they are a cross between boots and wellingtons. Fur lined as well http://www.protecdirect.co.uk/Rigger-Boots...-Lined-Boot.htm edited to say they are not leather they are rubber tops and steel midsole for jumping barbed wire Edited October 29, 2009 by harrycatcat

I've got some mate - GRUB Stalker, great supportive heel and ankle on them as well as good sole. They do get on the warm side and your socks may be damp with sweat when you take them off but having warm toes in wellies is something of a new experiance from the other crap that i've had - i won't moan about it come January Edited October 29, 2009 by Local
