Me too! had a bitch 22 1/2" a few years back. One of the gamest dogs iv'e ever seen-died doing her thing.

her mother was a 1st cross wheaton hound and i put her across a deerhound dog.. shea an outstanding bitch at her game not alot gets from her i dont know anyone else who has tried this yet but im putting her back to my big dog hes 2nd cross wheaton put back to a prue track hound.. hes starting to improve himself both are very fast..

this is my wee wheaton x bitch shes bout 9-10 mnths was told shes whippet x wheaton / houndxcollie

now i dont want to cause an argument when i say this, but alot of the wheaton x's i have seen look rather heavy, like a 1st x bull...........i expected then to have a racier build to them??

A first cross Wheaten will have a heavy build just like a first cross bull. Have you seen the chest on a proper Wheaten Terrier ?

 

Very well built dogs.

 

A Wheaten cross with just a 1/4 Wheaten are very racy.

yes i agree, but like any 1/4 will most likely come ot racey. the wheaten is a well built dog true (dont mean to sound like a "drop mi kegs n wak 1 out over a bull x") but i dont see much comparison between a bull and a wheaten (in build wise).....as i think the wheaten is naturally a lot racier looking than a pit.....i just expected 1st x's to come out smaller than they do....if that makes sense??

I have seen first crosses and 3/4, one 3/4 bred dog owner by a renound felcher on here is very quick and built like a brick outhouse, my kind of dog. My Wheaten is still young but showing signs of being big and racy.............
