Coatesy900 0
If its not causing any harm then I wouldn't rush right to the vets. It may be a completely harmless cyst and you will have wasted a good 30/40 quid. If it grows in size or doesnt start to shrink after a length of time then you should probably get it checked out just to be safe. Depends how much you value your ferret tbh. Quote Link to post
jacrabbit 0
it could be a umbilical hernia. how old is he? see link http://en.allexperts.com/q/Ferrets-2277/f/...erret-tummy.htm Edited October 26, 2009 by jacrabbit Quote Link to post
j davies 8
either vets or take it by your reply you would do that yes and i dont mean the vet bit Quote Link to post
Quixote 9
It might be a subcutaneous cyst? Just a guess though, but if he's otherwise healthy & eating ok then it's unlikelt to be anything too serious. As (nearly)everyone else has said though, I'd get him to the vet! Even if it is just a cyst, it doesn't necessarily mean you can leave it. There's always the potential for it to abscess, especially if he ruptures it Quote Link to post
