What time do you go out lamping?

well yesterday i was out at 7.30 pm for half hour,( see my post) might have a look in a few mins for another half hour.

 

done alot at 5pm mid winter, and back home and in work by 8.30 pm , with 20 or so rabbits.

 

but also i will get up somtimes at 4 am and go for a couple of hours, done this a few times latly as we have a 3 month old baby

 

these early times are obvoiusly for permision,

GO ALLSORTS OF TIMES TO SUIT THE NITE AND PLACE AND PLUS SOME TIMES GAME, OUT EARLY SOMETIMES LATE , MAXIMUM WE GO OUT IS FOR 4 HRS AS BY THAT TIME YOUVE HAD YOUR FILL BUT YOU CAN GO OUT LOCALY AND WERE I COME FROM, MOST NITES AS THERE NO LACK OF LAND TO DRIVE WALK WE DONT NEeD TO TRAVEL FOR GAME AS IT WAS BUILT ROUND SHOOTING ESTATES SO WOODS AND FEILDS PERFECT IN SOME BITS , NEVER HAD TO LAMP TILL SMALL HOURS OF DAWN DONE AND DUSTED BY 2 OR 3 USALY , SOMETIMES WILL SET A NET LAMP TILL SUCH TIMES THE WATERS CAME IN AND BROUGHT THE FISH IN ,LAMP TILL THEN THEN PICK NET UP ALL DEPENDS WORK AND WHATS ON OFFER ,all depens on availibility of game you get to know were they are and if they are not there feck it there always another nite its called expierence

What is the general sort of times you guys and gals go lamping?

I generally leave around 8pm, (before the clocks went back) and get to the fields around 8:30-9pm by the time I pick a friend or 2 up. Because there is 2-3 dogs and we all want a few runs I get home about 12-1 am.

My wife thinks that it is too late and that if I do it like her dad used to 25-30 yrs ago I can go at dusk (7pm) and be home by 10pm at the latest!!

 

Just like a few of your views on this please.

 

 

lol grow a set, who cares wat her da done . go out when its dark and tell her u will be home when ur home.

If im not working the following day, i like to head out about 11. If i am working, then i have to get out soon as its dark enough, and hopefully be tucked up in bed by 1AM

The time we set out is according to how far we are travelling for our lamping, we never start lamping until " AFTER 12 " cos "ITS ALL MY LAND"

from then, again getting home depends how far we have travelled, but we rarely finish lamping until dawn or farmers lights start coming on ! !

same here.can't get my head around lamping early doors,well on top.i usually get on the land bout 11.30 12 ish and try and get home before 5.

used to arrive home when the sun was coming up a few year ago when i was younger and keener

I like to go after 12 dont have to travel far can lamp rabbits from my door step!! Then its around my own land for 2-3 hrs.

The birds are always singing when i get into bed. Still i prefer the birds to the owl that has set up camp this year in an oak tree 20 feet from bedroom window!!

I go what time I want as often as I want, I was just asking for other peoples views on lamping times...

 

But my aim is to be as manly as you 1 day, you sound like a mans man :sick:
