What time do you go out lamping?

Recommended Posts

What is the general sort of times you guys and gals go lamping?

I generally leave around 8pm, (before the clocks went back) and get to the fields around 8:30-9pm by the time I pick a friend or 2 up. Because there is 2-3 dogs and we all want a few runs I get home about 12-1 am.

My wife thinks that it is too late and that if I do it like her dad used to 25-30 yrs ago I can go at dusk (7pm) and be home by 10pm at the latest!!

Just like a few of your views on this please.

I vary it, depends where I am, some of my permissions is bordered by houses so go when folks are asleep. Also vary it has rabbit numbers vary through the night, If I find them thin on the ground I'll change the time.

depends what we doing,

how we doing it,

were we doing it,

anything local then we try to leave as late as poss, 11.30ish normally because they well shy around here so try to catch them out in the field abit,

never really earlyer than 10.00, just find it pointless, to many eyes about when early on, quite often do all nights leave at 10.30ish, and carry on until next daylight, some times have to swap the dogs around if they start to tire or get sore, then once it breaks daylight have a drive around with pellet guns to see what we can bag, ,
