Another good outing.

Got a msg last night from Para1 to see if i had a leave pass from the wife to go ferreting for the day so thought hell yeah lets go.

To find out he wernt going lol. But our other mate Al was up for it so set my alarm clock for 0730, now i took into consideration the clocks going back a hour but guess what, he didnt lol so he rocks up at my house as my alarm clock is going off thinking its 0830. Now i polished off a dam few off my home brew last night so was a bit tender this morning but you know had to get over it quick.

 

So chucked some clothes on not even enough time to have some breky so ive grabbed the ferrets and the locator and off we went.

 

Went to a bit we done last time a nice irish man who sorted us out a tin of beer at the end of the day so was already onto a winning combination. We got there around 0830 new time so i'm still feeling a bit groggy my head was buzzing and my stomach defo did not feel to good, but i soldierd on and we netted the first run up. after 5 mins no action so out with the boxes and we located the ferret's both of them sat on a rabbit, bloody great first one of the day and where digging, Wheres Para1 when you need him the master of the shovel that he is. started digging to find out its all full of large rocks, ten mins in and i piss of Al by breaking his shovel the only one we had so we spent the rest of the digging using a spike and the end of the shovel.

 

Finaly we the ferrets came out but due to all the rocks it was impossible to get down to the rabbit so after 30-45 mins we gave up with defeat after only getting a foot down of the 4 foot we had to go.

 

Moving on to the next run lucky enough we could get a long net up so off we set to work me master raker and him the net king it didnt take long before the net was ready and in went the ferrets. within minutes one bolted to the net followed by Al's dog and mine one in the bag bout time lol, few mins later bang another hits the net and within the 20 mins or so we pulled 4 out of this warren.

 

Time to move on (not before a cup of coffee and a pack of hula hoops.

 

We moved down to the last warren of the day out with the long net and all 4 ferrets go in. i move down to a spot where the net goes under a fence so me thinking ( not a good idea lol) that if i sit on the fence witch ever side the rabbit hits i can jump off and get to. Well sod law happens and i see a rabbit break cover right in front of me just sat there, i think i aint gona move cas it will run back in so i 'll wait for the bolt. well the dam thing dose right between my legs by the time ive jumped of the fence turned round the bugger has kicked out under and legged it.

 

This makes me move to another part of the net and start the waiting game, the next rabbit breaks cover and hits the net followed by a mad dive from me to secure the rabbit quick flick its dead and back to work, 2 bolt up by al and he sorts them out quick enough. things slow down then and for the next 30 mins we get another 4 from this warren.

 

11 from the day a nice number qich qill keep the ferrets filled up for the week.

Looking forward to next weekend now hopefully Para1 will nbe able to make it.
