First Outing This Season

Recommended Posts

First outing this season on a bit of new permission, One huge set, between us we took 130 nets and covered only about half the holes, had a bit of success boltiing bunnies from clear holes and backnetting them into others, The ferrets all worked well and Patch the pointer was spot on as usual. Encountered some of the most vicious nettles in England and peter(birdman) came up with a novel way of stopping the pain all i can say is dont shake hands with him!!

A cracking day had by all. Ferrets & dog working really well. As for long nets yes they could have added a few more to the total but the rabbits in general were just bolting from one hole to another & rarely headed for the open. The nettles were bad mate & the piss does work. Y I S Pete

130 hole warrens.... :icon_eek: using purse nets is hard work hey.

Over here in Aust there are plenty of those on larger overrun areas..

Takes ages to do even with a team of helpers....

This is my reason behind considering a couple of 50 yd or 25 yd quickset systems.

Would be a boon for some of the ground i have in mind.

Nice bag and a top day out by the sounds of it.

Cheers,

Shaun

Hi Shaun. Quick set nets are a great tool in the right places & are very efficient when you get good with them but i am a bit of a traditionalist & use the old long nets. We are planing the next attack we will use 100 yard nets and a 25 yard stop net to split the warren in two.Y I S Pete
