Marksman 934
Hi Guys, Well after looking forward to one of our usual weekend trips with Festa to join Zini and our other shooting pals, Festa informed me that he had to work today so I decided to go out ferreting instead and enlisted the help of a good friend who'd never been ferreting before and was inquisitive of what it entailed. Looking at the weather it looked like it was going to be a short day anyway so off we went. We got to the permission at 8am and just driving down the road we bolted at least 5-6 in different directions. Getting to the first bury was just a short walk from where we parked and so netted up the 7 holes. Collars fitted down went the ferret. She was down a good 7-10mins without surfacing so on with the locator......we eventually located her...... 12ft down! she never moved for a good 2-3 further minutes and I didnt really fancy a 12ft dig so I stomped above her location in the hope it moved her on......IT WORKED!!....with ferret on the move again came our first rabbit of the day.....it shot out of the hole like a cannonball from a cannon, rapidly followed nearly as fast by the ferret! She was reentered down another hole and appeared at the others so we lifted and moved on. To cut a long story short and stop you all falling asleep reading this we carried on with a few more sets including a one with 12 holes (which only accounted for 2 rabbits ) All in all we ended up with 7 good sized rabbits in 3 hrs, 4 of which have been turned into a nice bug pan of rabbit stew....... yumyum!! Pics as usual.... Mate with the haul Me with the haul Anyone hungry??..... Thanks for reading.... Darryl Quote Link to post
