Dale.m 0
To try to claim to be able to make reliable and humane shots at 135 yards with an air rifle is iresponsible to say the least Yes, I dare say that after plenty of fluffed shots you may well get lucky the odd time but it's no fun for the poor rabbits that fall victim to all of the feck ups, is it? If you were even a couple of yards out either way at those kind of distances, you'll be inch's off the mark, not that the gun and pellets will hold a tight enough group at that distance anyway. Are you honestly trying to tell us that in field conditions or even in an indoor range for that matter, that you can produce reliable inch groups??? We have practices at these ranges for quite a while and due to the conditions of the day being a tiny breeze, and we know perfectly what our rifles our capable of. but I do see your point but we are no rookies Quote Link to post

millsy44 72
I could barely see the rabbit on my last months 88 yarder, that 135 yard rabbit must of been a dot in your scope.............? Atb peter I was the shooter and it was pretty small but wasnt too bad forgotten what scope tom-praireCS had on his r-10 My 88 yarder was a shot taken the day after 1000 pellets and an all day session on the range in perfect conditions, I doubt ill ever try that distance again, not even a month down the line, i have all my work wrote down on a print out of my cross hairs and attached to my vipers sunshade for reference, but i couldnt guarantee that the scope hasnt taken a slight knock since then resulting in it being a fraction out, and a fraction at the gun end is alot at the target end, theres alot of factors to take into account shooting at that range, never mind 135 yards mate, use some field craft and stalk closer, it makes it more fun when you have to get to within 40/60 yards Im not having a go at anybody here, just trying to advise Atb peter Edited June 23, 2011 by millsy44 1 Quote Link to post

It's a public forum, mate, so isn't that what it's all about? You've put up a VERY bold claim, so how can you expect folks not to comment?? However you try to justify it you simply cannot try to claim that whatever you did was a good idea and that you'd recomend anyone else to try it? There's a lot of new shooters read these threads and those kind of wild claims only give them the wrong idea. We're ment to promote responsible shooting here and you're not helping one bit, mate.
