dose any one ferret at night

Recommended Posts

to call a poacher a thief is a little pathetic

Sorry, but I just don't agree in the least. Apart from the fact that it's a criminal activity in itself, poachers are responsible for more damage & inconvenience than anyone realises. The old romantic 'one for the pot' view of a poacher is only held by the deliberately uninformed or ignorant.

Blacktabs? You 'resist' those 'little sets' by reminding yourself that you don't have permission for them! If you've asked, & it's been refused, then obviously a reason exists & you'd do well to remember that. If you haven't even had the common decency to ask permission in the first place, then the least of the offences you're commiting is trespass (in England & Wales, at least)

Ferreting at night is, in my view, neither practical nor advisable. Of course, it can be done. But the main reason it does happen is precisely for the reasons I keep reading about on this thread............'poaching'

Some have mentioned taking roe at night, also pheasant. As taking deer at night is illegal, I can't see how this can be defended?

Anyone who fancies it can crack on if they like.......you're not going to pay attention to the likes of me, are you? Especially when you all have your wee mates to back you up here. Chances are though, you'll be caught in the act at some point, & I hope the bloke who feels your collar is a big b*****d

big b******d once felt my collar turned out he was,nt big enough

Aye...............another 'no profile info', 'no location', etc poster :hmm:

Seems to be a helluva lot of them around, all happily-prepared to talk shite about stuff they probably know nothing about. Or happily-prepared to admit to all sorts of thievery & behaviour that any decent person would be ashamed to admit to.

Bit like blanking out the faces of the wee tossers on 'Car Wars', isn't it? ;)

Nope...............if you're ferreting at night, it's obviously because you've something to hide, so your opinions don't mean more than a flying fart in a gale to me ;)

at some point in your life you will have broke the law

Perhaps............but unlike some, I don't take pride in broadcasting it ;)

Sorry you don't agree, but I loathe poachers with a vengeance. They've absolutely no right to be where they are, no right to be taking property that doesn't belong to them, and have the stupidity & contempt for the law to attempt to glorify their actions.

As far as ferreting at night's concerned? I really don't see the point. If you need to control rabbits, and have the permissions & necessary tools, then there are far better ways of doing it.

If you're just after a bit of thieving, then like I say crack on, but don't expect any sympathy from the 'man with the big stick' when he finally catches you :bye:

And i suppose your the "man with the big stick" are you?Who made you lord of the manor :thumbdown:

As usual, back to the 'haves and have nots'.

The people that have permission never let anyone on it and then bang on how they should be on 'their land'.

It is still a class divided society and is based on land ownership.

How much of public money supports that land?

Also what damge does a person with a couple of dogs do on land which most likely the farmer doesn't even know you have been there.

So much bull that poachers do so much damage, gangs yes but individuals no.

I bet next thing is ramblers! GET OFF MY LAND!

I'm not going to bang on about it anymore, I promise!

I'm just going to sit back & enjoy a sense of quiet satisfaction that I've successfully managed to irritate the tits off so many of you with practically no effort at all :toast:

That was fun.....................................what's next?

Like Whin i can remember the miners strike but more importantly to me i can remember a poor upbringing where the addition of a bit of game was more than welcome it was natural for us village lads to go through the whole hunting spectrum starting with cattys and sticks then the first dog gun etc.

Ive been caught a load of times as i just get on and do it gave up knocking doors years ago.

Most times the bobbys dont mind a bit of ferreting and id like a pound for every bit of permission ive got from doing roadside sets dont tell me i know they belong to the highways commision or whatever its called.

Got caught last year on an airfield got me a few more acres that did no they didnt think i might be a terrorist

Getting permission on estates is another thing entirely used to have a few to go on but keepers change and the permission went with them just stick to infested areas now as most folks want rid of those pesky waabits

Why are you trying to irritate people in the first place? Grow up.
