TOMO 26,038
admit it Quixote , you feel a tit, Nope...............if you're ferreting at night, it's obviously because you've something to hide, so your opinions don't mean more than a flying fart in a gale to me WOW........ your arogance prevents you from lisning to others, or even learning somthing. and to call a poacher a thief is a little pathetic, your obviously a keeper, i done a bit up round kingusie , thats in perthshire isnt it Link to post
blacktabs 3
You cant educate them all How can you resist them little field sets thats on the estate you would never get permission to do in the day easy isnt it go at night and if your worried you might lose the fert get yourself a nightlight like they use in fishing attached to the ferts collar. Ive done a lot at night [not with a nightlight though] and never lost a fert wouldnt do big sets but fieldsets offer no problem atb Link to post
Quixote 9
to call a poacher a thief is a little pathetic Sorry, but I just don't agree in the least. Apart from the fact that it's a criminal activity in itself, poachers are responsible for more damage & inconvenience than anyone realises. The old romantic 'one for the pot' view of a poacher is only held by the deliberately uninformed or ignorant. Blacktabs? You 'resist' those 'little sets' by reminding yourself that you don't have permission for them! If you've asked, & it's been refused, then obviously a reason exists & you'd do well to remember that. If you haven't even had the common decency to ask permission in the first place, then the least of the offences you're commiting is trespass (in England & Wales, at least) Ferreting at night is, in my view, neither practical nor advisable. Of course, it can be done. But the main reason it does happen is precisely for the reasons I keep reading about on this thread............'poaching' Some have mentioned taking roe at night, also pheasant. As taking deer at night is illegal, I can't see how this can be defended? Anyone who fancies it can crack on if they like.......you're not going to pay attention to the likes of me, are you? Especially when you all have your wee mates to back you up here. Chances are though, you'll be caught in the act at some point, & I hope the bloke who feels your collar is a big b*****d Link to post
TOMO 26,038
HOLY shit , your whiter than white i guess, never done a single ILEGAL act in your life, never speeded, never ran your landy on red, never sold a bit of game and not paid the inland revenue there bit, the list is endless mate , but at some point in your life you will have broke the law NOW i dont poach any more, loads of permision, and i also run a small pest control company. so also get paid rabbit work. also some places are sensitve to the public, footpaths and nature reserves, require a nightime visit. unfortunatly, theres no discustion with you , you not open minded enough and set in your ways to much, its a shame realy , i pitty people like you. just not willing to learn Link to post
Quixote 9
at some point in your life you will have broke the law Perhaps............but unlike some, I don't take pride in broadcasting it Sorry you don't agree, but I loathe poachers with a vengeance. They've absolutely no right to be where they are, no right to be taking property that doesn't belong to them, and have the stupidity & contempt for the law to attempt to glorify their actions. As far as ferreting at night's concerned? I really don't see the point. If you need to control rabbits, and have the permissions & necessary tools, then there are far better ways of doing it. If you're just after a bit of thieving, then like I say crack on, but don't expect any sympathy from the 'man with the big stick' when he finally catches you Link to post
TOMO 26,038
loath poachers, you were born a century to late mate, in fact a century and half, and game dont belong to any one. apart from when its dead. im amazed that theres still people like you that exisit, you would actualy beat a man with a stick for poaching a rabbit feck your sadder than i first thought, just for one miniut, step back and think about that. you would actualy see a man beaten for taking a rabbit. you have real issue's mate that need adressing, i suggest having a talk with your doctor, and seeing if he can recomend some one to help with your mental state. nasher1 258
I,ve got permission on a golf course which I'm not allowed on during daylight hours so I have been thinking about giving ferreting at night a go, so after all the constructive comments on this thread the next full moon Im over there Link to post

Quixote 9
I've already made my point about 'thieving', 'poaching', criminal behaviour', etc.............so adding anything else would clearly be falling on deaf ears. Like I said, 'carry on son' Link to post

Kay 3,709
My father in laws boss has him go & keep rabbits down at night for him as his Mrs wasnt having any of it at one time he had traps set all over the place then the father in law would dispatch them elsewhere So dont assume that everyone who does any rabbiting at night is on the rob Link to post
Quixote 9
If you read through the posts, you'll soon see I've 'assumed' nothing Link to post
