Anyone out there still use any of these? What do you think of them compared to the Fenn Mark 6 and the Magnum 116 Bodygrip?

The Fenn Mk 6 was designed to catch rabbits in their burrows in the UK,.the US ConyBear/Bodygripper was not ;) They are both versitile tools,.but cannot be compared...Different strokes,etc,.. :11:

NW; I take it you're talking about the better known of the Fenn Rabbit Traps; The ones with the round topped jaws? Better off selling those to Trap Collectors, mate. Buy yeself some nice, new Mk VI's.

I've honestly never set either for rabbits myself. But I hear those who have saying the Mk IV has the edge. Also, as they're out of production and not overly thick on the ground, your Fenn Rabbit's stand to end up a bit too valuable to be leaving out overnight ;)

Coming from a man who uses Imbra's and Juby's it's a bit rich to say that my old Fenn Mark 1 Rabbit Traps are too valuable to use! You are right though, I am talking about the trap with the round jaw which was sold as the Fenn Rabbit Trap. I've never actually used a Fenn Mark 6. I have a stock of Fenn Rabbits and Fenn Mark III and Mark IV traps as well a wide range of assorted odds and sods. A while back I needed some new traps and intended to buy some Mark VIs but instead for various reasons bought some Kanias' and bodygrips and never got around the buying any Mark VIs. My old Fenn Rabbits seem to go OK but I was wondering about the comparison of the one versus the other - to my eyes the Mark VI has a lot less metal in it than the Rabbit Trap and I'm not sure about the strength of the spring, I'll probably just have to buy a Mark VI or two and do the comparison myself.

There's a lot more Juby and Imbra traps out there, mate ;) Year or so's time, the market for your Fenn Rabbits will explode. You can trust me on this.

Less steel? I often hear that said of one trap versus another. Makes me wonder; For centuries people got by just fine on Gin traps. The Forged ones, especially, carried a hell of a weight of steel. Caught things though.

Personally, I'd sooner set Fenn's ~ Rabbit or VI ~ simply because I can't stand messing about with double tunnels. Though, the Juby's I set in bigger drain mouths certainly did the work. Just sat there, buck naked. But then; I wasn't catching rabbits.

 What can I say, lads? I'm just an honest bloke!

Now; If anyone wants to make a bob or two, right now? I'm looking for a particular type of Sawyer Rabbit trap. No more good or bad at stopping a bunny than any of the many other Types. Just one I haven't picked up yet.

Anyone ....?

Here ye go, Ricky: I'm getting tired now and ~ sorry ~ really can't be arsed to go fetch one of my own and talk about it. But this is a random shot of someone elses Sawyer Rabbit I found in my files (Thanks to who evers shot this is).

This trap may be confused, at first glance, with an Imbra. The vertical slot at the top of the taller jaw gives it away though. I need a few traps like this for some research I'm doing. It'd be simpler for people to show me what they have than for me to try to explain the subtle differances and minor points I seek. But, to the casual observer, they'd look pretty well like this:

Sawyer Rabbit Trap

PM me if ye have anything :good:
