12 month whippet bitch for sale.

Recommended Posts

hi all

due to my sons ever increasing fear of cows he has decided to pack in the lamping and now has a cocker dog to go beating with. this means his whippet bitch is up for sale. she is 12 months old - black and white. he has her retrieving over small fences and she has an excellent temperament. she has up to now caught about 5 rabbits on the lamp but is by no means an experienced lamping dog but since catching is coming on well. she is bang in season at the moment in case anyone interested needs to kennel her with a dog. she is super quick and although i haven't measured her i would say she is about 19 tts but i will measure for anyone who needs to know. she is kc reg and her sire is marandike silver bullet. i gave 275 for her as a pup and we are about ten miles from newport, south wales. open to serious offers via pm

cheers

Could you not hang on to her until her season has finished as some one might just take her now to make a quick buck by lining her and she only a pup.Good look with the sale anyway. And i also know about fear of cows i shit myself every time i walk through them.atb Jon

Yes give her a bit more time my pup's wouldn't go near them at first now they'll go right up to them off lead or as mr hunter said wait till after her season atb rich

I think it is the guy's son, not the dog, who is afraid of the cows.

Have you tried her breeder to see if he/she will have the bitch back?

I think that Mr Hunter made a really good point about hanging on to her til after her season.

get a stick and whack the cows or get a good dog that shins them away ,

Come whin.Great way to teach your son.Get a big stick and hit them. All the farmers must love you.Its only a fear that can be over come.Just sit him down at a distance where he he feels ok about them. When he sees they will do him no harm.Go a bit closer. He,ll soon get the message they are more afraid of him.Its a bit like training a pup.atb. Catcher

90% of my permission has cattle on it. won't force the nipper to do anything he is not comfortable with end of. plenty of persuasion but to no avail........as for being a poor excuse what do you suggest i do leave her in the kennel everytime i go lamping - thats not going to happen. i have 14 pm's of offers and people wanting more info. so hopefully after i go through them all someone will end up with a top class whippet who is well socialised who is showing good promise on the lamp and she won't be stuck in the kennel like she will end up being here. needless to say i won't be taking your advice whin so keep it to yourself. all the best

thanks for the advice but i have tried all with him apart from scruffing him and dragging him through there... but he comes with me beating so he will still have his fun................ no wise cracks as there is no cattle on this shoot this is the 10% with no cattle.lol.

my son was scared of cows but eventually grew out of it, even so he still isnt 100% comfortable, nothing is enjoyable if you are frightened, part of being a parent is to protect them from what they are scared of, as far as I can see, huntingnightowl is not only being a great dad to his son but also trying to put the dogs best interests first as well.Incidently cant see how whacking the cows with a stick or getting a dog to shift them is

a. gonna cure the boys fear

b. enamour you with the beasts owner in any way

my lad is scared of cows when we go out on the lamp but he wouldnt sell his dog he just just walks behind me but i think the more he gets out the less paranoid he will become good luck with the sale anyway alb martync

he won't even get in the field never mind walk behind me....................honestly we have had some right up and downers believe me and this is the best option. too stressful for me and him so we've made the decision to sell her. it took me ages to get him to sell her but as i explained to him she is not being left in the kennel when she can go to a home where she will be worked full time.

cheers
