Selective breeding

If ferrets are not bred purposly for working is there a chance that they will not know what they are doing or do instincts just take over. The reason I ask is because I got my 2 from a bloke out of the paper and have no idea where they came from. I have not worked them yet and have no other ferrets to show them the ropes. Heard off a few people that they may not be interested in the bunnies if they are meant for pets. Cheers, Aaron.

we have now been out a few times with 5 young ferrets( only my jill had been worked) and they have all taken to it well, three hobs and two jills all running through well going deep. no big bags yet but its getting us all into the swing of things and makes good morning out.

we have started them slow and are swapping over so that they all get a go.

bung them down and let them get to know the game( i think thats all it is to them at first).

have fun.
