how often you feed yours?

Hi peeps just a wondering how often do you guys feed your ferrets, i was told once a day is enough but i feel that is no where near enough,

 

It dont help that me jill is lookin a little it on the skinny side, any ideas on to put a bit of meat on to her.

 

Both me jill and hob are both feed the same amount of tinned dog food

Tinned dog food is a no no, you need either fresh rabbit or a specialy formulated dry ferret food, dogs and ferrets have different nutritional needs, as to how many times a day, depends how much you feed at once.

mostly water in those tins, if you cant feed fresh raw rabbit/pidgeon etc

do the decent thing at get some chicken from supermarket

failing that ferret biscuit

I keep their dry food topped up, and give them meat at night. Works well for my lot.

dont give them chicken more than once a week its bad for them if you give them to much. and thins there coat which is the last thing you need in the winter

i feed my 2 ferrets once a day and their fairly chunky at the moment. dry ferret food is essential when feeding ferrets. my mate used to feed his twice a WEEK and it was same weight as mine when fed everyday. but i would feed it everyday with more than enough dry ferret food

I feed my adult ferrets a rabbit a day as late as i can to cut down the flies but i feed kitts morning and night as i dont think its fair to starve them all day till teatime

Never heard that before mate, I've fed mine on chicken when I've ran out of rabbit with no thinning of the coat. Mine get either rabbit, chicken or frozen mince.

Not enough protein. The only tinned stuff that comes close is kitten food, but even then it's not ideal.

Rabbit when I can, and they always have a bowl of ferret biscuits so they can pick and choose when they want to eat.

If i have got enough i feed Pigeons everyday. When i feed Rabbit i put a whole one in and Feed every other day. If no fresh meat i feed Dried food every day.

Never heard of that, my ferret gets chicken more than once a week and it's never did him any harm.
