a good night turns out to be a bad night nearly

Recommended Posts

went out last night lamping for rats on the pig farm started off well with me and me mates dog tacking 1 a peice. while we were scanning around with lamps in empty pig pen that had just been cleaned out looking for are next longtail freind i said to me mate wheres ya dawg he said " sitting next to me here " i replied "no she isnt mate" so we called and called my dog was running around down the end of the pen going around in circles near a man hole cover which had been left off from them cleaning the pens out so we ran over and put the lamp in and there was his dog about 12ft beneath us in a slurry pit !!! all hell broke loose after that running around the farm looking for a ladder to get into the pit. lucky enough we found one that just fitted through the hole and down i went to her rescue lucky enough they had emptied most of the slurry out but there was still about 4ft in the bottom and the edges were rounded the dog was smart enough to go to the edge of the pit were i was waiting to scruff her and throw her up threw the hole she must of been down there all in all about 10 minutes or more we got her out and ran over to a drainpipe as it was pissing down with rain and cleaned her off and rubbed her down with straw to dry her up a bit. few what a reliefe me mate said thought she was a gona. he couldnt thank me enough for saving her. as he said he would have never been able to get down inside. after that we went to the trucks had a smoke replaced the lid on the man hole checked to make sure there wasnt anymore and carried on. his little jack didnt seem to be bothered that she was nearly a gona at 1 point in the night and was more worried about where her next long tail was coming from. we ended the night with a high instead of a low that could of been.its amazing what lengths you will go to to save another persons dog.

well done pal, your friend owes you one, the dog was very lucky as some of those pits are very deep and can stretch the full length of the pig units/pens and are very dangerous for anyone to enter them, i bet you smelled well when you got back out, think your pal needs to take you for afew :drink:
