TOMO 26,114
mine was 25 at the shoulder 51 lb in weight, she court rabbits other dogs would miss , hares for fun and roe no problem killing them before you got to her. she was also the softest mouth on bunnies, she wouldn't do fox however. she had good feet , but like evryone else has said thin skin. im not exagerating when i say how intelgent she was . she had unbelivible eyesight and a brilliant strike, she picked up ferreting in a couple of outings would mark and of course take bolters. she also wone the windmill cup in 2003 (doubled up coursing) and runner up in 2004. and then i lost her and she is sadly missed sally is in the red collar Quote Link to post

Guest mush
Lovely looking bitch Tomo, how was she on the longer runs? should think there aren't many dogs that could stay up with a wxg of her size for the first part of a course. Talking of size, when I first start with lurchers ( mostly whippet x ) i had a hard time getting anything over 22-23 as the whippet genes seems to be stronger than the greyhound side. My mate bred some 3/4 greyhound 1/4 whippet ( the Sire was bred off willhay) most of the bitchs were 21- 22 and the dogs a bit bigger, one i think made 24. Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,114
stamina wise she was quite good , on the hares she had about 3- 3.5 mins , i know this is nowt compared with a saluki x but when you compare with a pure grey i think youd agree its quite good . lamping wise she never got tested proply as i was running her almost daly on the odd hare or ferreting. but she did do some 15 and 20 localy and im sure she would have done far more on good ground in the dales. thanks for the comments guys TOMO Quote Link to post
FERRETBOY 680
cracking dogs you have.what do you lot think a collie x greyhound x whippet greyhound would turn out like.with a better coat and stronger feet and abit more stamina i think these would turn out very good.this is my preferance as i would very much like such a breed. good hunting rew Quote Link to post

HBG 350
no way will he tackle a fox on his own he will grab them and let go,he'll topple them over on the run, i was rabbiting one night and he caught the fox by the tail and they were going round in circles and he just let it go and the fox ran off,but run him with another dog that will do them and he seems to know and catches quite a few in his way.he will catch the odd daytime hare but i didnt bother side of the game that much if at all.my brother gets a few running him with his 1/2 sister out of the same whip/grey bitch to a bull/grey.
