jacrabbit 0
Can ferrets climb? Although my o.h has said no, I can’t have a ferret, I am still doing my research on them and quietly trying to set up a ferret home in my out house lol. I want to put a hutch in an enclosure with lots of play space. But do I need the enclosure to be up to the roof or can I have it say 5 feet. It will be made of wood with chicken wire. And I don’t know if a ferret can climb up chicken wire. ? Quote Link to post

CityHunter.uK 12
Mine climb curtains and all sorts if they can get a grip they will climb Quote Link to post
Cornio 0
They'll climb chicken wire with ease, use a lid that can be weighted or locked down. If there's a way out they'll find it, as I've found out a few times. Quote Link to post

The Ferret Tamer 1
One other point don't use chicken wire they will chew through it in no time at all, try to use a weld mesh type for ferret housing. Regards FT Quote Link to post

The one 8,511
They climb with ease thats why you should build your hutch as big as you can Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
Ferrets are amazing escape artists, so make sure the enclosure is totally secure, and if your o-h won't allow you to have any, don't just go out and get them, Make sure you get rid of the o- h first ferrets make great pets and ferreting is a great sport.
