Wesman 0
Alright lads, first proper post. I'm quite new to shooting still, but I've got a shotgun now and I start beating at a shoot in Cheshire on Saturday. What I fancy doing is a bit of rough shooting. What is your advice on the best way to find it? Is beating a good start, as that's part of my reason for doing it. I also don't know anyone who shoots so I think it'll be a good way to network and hopefully get invited to shoot somewhere. ATB, Wes
Dave C 63
Yes you are going about it the write way Wes, try to get friendly with the Keepers and ask them for some Vermin Shooting, which is a help to them and excellent sport in its own write. The other thing to do is knock on some farmers doors, if its not keepered land you might have a chance, good farms that dont already have any shooting on there, are few and far between, but if you dont ask you dont get. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Dave. Edited November 4, 2009 by Dave C

fensaluki 35
your definatly going about things the right way...many beaters have a bit of rough shooting and will usualy take new beater friends along with them once they are trusted but be sure not to rush it as you dont want your new beater friends to think your only there for what you can get.Good beaters take their job very seriously and dont like to feel as if they are being taken for one . Good luck mate, welcome to the site and happy hunting
