HUnter_zero 58
Just wondering if anyone any suggestions of an all round factory round (fox and deer) for my .243 gain b/t etc cheers It all depends upon the twist rate of your barrel. For example my .243" pro-hunter has a 1in12 twist which will stabilize 58 grain V-max very well indeed, giving one hold groups at 100 yards all day long but with 100 grain bullets I get 2"-3"+ groups which will take both fox and deer at 100 yards. For this reason I want to reload a dual purpose load with a compromise of a 75 grain soft point which I hope will produce good groups and could be used on both Roe & Fox. Measure you twist rate, use the greenhills formula to decided on a bullet length and go from there. John Quote Link to post
Guest vimto.
I mean varmint projectiles up to and including the 87g V-max Logic.. The 100g SP would be an excellent choice for reloading or a similar designed projectile in factory Ammunition.. Quote Link to post

In principle I would tend to agree, problem is there are many .243 out there that get very funny when you stick a 100g down them, so whatever, a level of trial and error will be involved to find what suits the gun!
