WHEN the RSPCA office in Chippenham Road in Harold Hill was closed, local residents turned to the British National Party to ask for help.

A deputation approached Mark Logan, the BNP councillor for Gooshays ward on Havering Council, and asked him if he could do anything to get the office opened again.

Mark contacted the newly appointed Chief Executive of the RSPCA, Mark Watts, to find out the exact reasons behind the closure:

“I wrote to Mr Watts and Gregory Brown, the RSPCA Branch Development Advisor for the South East, and got a prompt response,†Mark told Freedom, the BNP’s monthly newspaper.

“It transpired that the branch was in urgent need of finance, and the office had become dilapidated, was in need of refurbishment.â€

Since his election back in February, Mark has been busily engaged in setting up Community Action Team. This is a group of volunteer tradesmen – decorators, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, builders and odd job men – who offer their services free of charge to those Gooshays residents who need vital work done but are unable to afford it.

The Community Action Team have already helped an elderly resident with some minor construction works, and carried out a small refurbishment for another. Now they have agreed to help renovate the RSPCA building for the charity.

To help finance the project there was a 10,000 BNP leaflet drop in Harold Hill with a full page highlighting to plight of the RSPCA Office and Mark has been delighted with the response from the public.

“It’s looking promising,†he said. “Over £100 was raised on the first day alone. Whilst the office is closed an audit is being conducted and once that has been completed the upgrading work can start.

“Thanks to the British National Party, the RSPCA office in Chippenham Road will hopefully re-open again soon, and this time it will be on a much firmer financial footing.â€

History always repeats itself.....when you alienate the indigenous people of a country then the far right or left will naturally become more popular.......Germany in the 20,s is a prime example.

Now personally I think the BNP are a bunch of complete idiots, but they will stick a flea in the ear of the normal tory/lib/lab bullshitters.

Its a shame Cameron seems content to just let Brown loose the next election rather than try and win it.........anyway, should be good for a watch and if you can let Muslim extremists parade through London then you can let a legitimate political party have some airtime with all the others.

Interesting stuff matt.

Support for the RSPC@ by the BNP will be of great concern for anyone who anyone who keeps working dogs, and will surely cost them a lot of votes.

I personally think the BBC should have done the program as normal and thrown NG to the wolves, and see how he did, my guess is he'd look a mug.

IMHO Nick Griffin has the right to be on the programme, afterall some people have voted for him and his party in the Euro elections, the BBC are doing the right thing allowing him on, on a personal note as much as I despise him and his party and all they stand for, he is head and shoulders above the likes of gordon brown and co in my estimation. Should be interesting to see what he has to say and how the other politicians on the show treat him...................

Of course he has the right to go on there because the freedom of speach BBC allowed him to do so.

It's going to be interesting to see what is churning outside the BBC's studio doors.

The BNP will never change their beliefs no matter what picture they are trying to paint to members of the public, and no TV slot will change most peoples views on them.

The BNP will hang themselves tonight.

Nick Griffin will as Artic says "hang himself" tonight.

I despise the BBC as an organisation for many reasons, the main reason being is that they are a tool for the powers that be.

However, tonight they have been devious, by providing a platform leading up to elections and following the major parties conferences.

On this platform Nick Griffin will more than likely come across as the small minded imbecile that he is.

A vote for the BNP is nothing more than a protest vote as far as the other parties are concerned and this is a perfect platform for him to damage the BNP's prospects.

He will come across as an idiot, simply because he is one. It will be interesting to see though, if he indeed has any policies to showcase other than the normal run of the mill stuff we already know.

Yes, I think it will show the hatred and fear of all those against free speech.

Agree with the BNP or not, their members have been democratically elected to represent the people who elected them, and have the right to speak on behalf of those people.

I find it interesting that so many on this site profess to be pro BNP and then you read this thread. A very ecclectic cross section of society we have on this site. Which is heartening

My concern is; Why do the other main parties wish to surpress the BNP? If as some of you have mentioned teh BNP are a bunch of evil nazis then surely they will be exposed as such. Or are they scared that as a democratic society (can't believe I said that!) we have teh right to vote for anyone we damn well like......Screaming Lord Such FFS! Is teh BNP a credible option in their view?

Personally I suspect that the BNP do not have teh "maturity" to deal with such a platform for their policies and I also suspect that it'll be a somewhat biased approach from the panel. NG will be up against it. And there is only one way to sort it out!............................................................FIGHT!

Tune in this time tomorrow to find out folks. Should be an interesting "posting" session methinx.

Personally I wouldn't like if the BNP came into power, but I what I'm hoping for is that they get enough votes to really shake up the main parties; enough for them to realise that our country has become an international joke and that they ought to do something about it.

Shake up the main parties ? hope they do something about it ?

If you think support of the bnp will bring about change in other parties your wrong......people either need to commit themself to the bnp or not at all.....personally i dont think the bnp could run the country succesfully....but id rather go down with a bit of pride than the way we are going down now like wimpering little frightened children scared to say anything incase we offend people who detest us !!...

They do say as human beings the last thing you lose is your pride.....and as a nation we have lost ours so how much worse can it get.

If anyone reading this is seriously considering a vote for the BNP you need to ask yourself a simple question first:

Would you vote for someone who actively supports, and collects money for the RSPC@? Let's not forget that the RSPC@ have done more damage to hunting in this country than all of the political parties put together. They fund other animal rights organisations, and have paid (using money collected to help animals) to have full page advertisments in national newspapers against hunting.

If you support the BNP then you support the RSPC@ and therefore, the labour party (lets not forget those donations in return for the Hunting Act).

Think before you vote.
