[NO] work them on there own, because both are little dogs they will be fast agile. So when they are ready they will soon pick it up no prob. How old are they,?? [10] months old is ok for smaller type lurchers to start, [but] only a few runs. Just take it very slowly Quote Link to post

tdavepat 8
I'll probably speak out of turn here, but unless their retrieval is 100% and unless you can guarantee that jealousy will not ruin one or both of their retrieval, then I would continue to work them lone. What advantage does it give you by working two small dogs at the same rabbit? None I would say. I have learned that even having another dog in the vicinity can ruin a young dog's retrieval. Let them learn their trade separately and don't rush into letting them run the same rabbit. All that will happen is that one will take off after the other, whether the first is on a rabbit or not. If one does nail a rabbit, the other will arrive and they'll be too excited in the game to think of you. Also its a sure way to give a decent dog a hard mouth. Good Luck. Dave Quote Link to post
