Jamie T 0 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Share Posted October 20, 2009 Hi not a clue about falconry etc more of a shooting man but my friend has just called me and has a harris hawk in a tree it is a pet from a unexperienced handler any ideas how to get it out tonight, the bird sanctuary wont come out tomorrow or am i just better off waiting for them? they do have handling gloves etc! Best to wait mate you could use a welders glove and shinned beef to try and bring it down but if its an inexperienced handler the bird may not be manned or on flying weight. Your probably going to have to climb the tree if you want to do anything tonight Is the bird dressed for flying or has it got loose with all its gear on mews jess and leash etc? Quote Link to post

Jamie T 0 Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2009 Hi sorry for the delayed response it seems i got hold of the wrong end of the stick when my mate called! it was an experienced handler just a new bird that had tangled its self in a tree and just wanted me to climb it to cut it out!!! thanks to all those who contacted me!!
