feeding rats

ive been reading a book and he feeds his ferrets rats does anyone else thanks

I wouldn't as rats are prone to carrying many diseases, but I suppose each to there own.

 

I only feed ferrets what I would eat myself.

if your going to breed the rats yourself, cant see any problems with it, but wild caught ones may be a bit iffy

if that can be fatal to ferrets why do you never hear about rating ferrets catching it i didnt think ferrets can catch anything from rats they are a food source for wild polecats .

I would be more worried incase the rats had eaten poisen before they were fed to the ferrets.

oh they most certainly can catch diseases from rats,most ferts that have had a nasty bite from a rat will die.

they are a disease ridden scourge.in this day and age there no need to be feeding this vermin to our ferts.

to the OP wasnt a plummer book by any chance...

used to when i was a kid , we used to ferret the railway embankment and the local tip never had any problems not done it for a lot of years though, they never ate the tails ?

I have fed mice that i bred myself to the ferrets. I dont think I would feed wild rats or mice to them though.

Food for pet snake. ferrets help thin the herd when the mouse population gets too high. they leave nothing.

THATS right mate i lost my best dog to leptospirosis i woz gutted i keep all my animals well away from rats now .the best place for them is on a fire ...........

sometimes i get frozen ones from the pet shop . any shop that sells snakes will sell them

try chicks my hobs love em and thay only cast 15p
