poacher3161 1,766
: At one time, alot of people used coursing greyhounds for lurcher xs. They were bred for better feet+stamina, and good prey-drive. Most come from the track to day, or coursing lines bred into track dogs. Thats what ive been told, i dont know how true that is. Maybe the people in to greys might know.? All greyhounds are bred down from coursing greyhounds as tracks did not open till 1926 the first i think was belle vue. Mick The Miller started out in the field. Thats true.A good read is a book called the legend of mick the miller by Michael Tanner.atb dell Quote Link to post
Aaron Proffitt 142
Perhaps it's just me , but every grey I've ever had has had some very strong aggression issues. Not so much my stags, but my greys for sure. Here's the results of grey jumping my stag over the summer. Arliss, the stag got his ass whipped . However, Tut actually came away from it worse for the wear . During the scuffle ,he cracked his head against a wood fence post and got a 1/4" piece of wood lodged in his eye. Amazingly, we were able to save his eye . Everyone knows one eyed fast dogs will just run in circles. Quote Link to post
Aaron Proffitt 142
Indoors, Max, I've had the same experience as you .Traveling, around people and what not...perfect gentlemen. Same dog above just about offed my Lab about two weeks before the pictured event ...I have no idea what started it. One minute I was walking through the yard with my Lab at heel and behind me with Tut just behind him .Next thing I know Tut has my Lab by the throat and was working on taking him out with brutal efficiency . Tut is now relegated to the kennel. Quote Link to post
Leeview 791
The largest % of greyhounds are sociable and tolerant of other dogs, but by God when you do get the odd aggressive one they're real mean machines and you would nt want to get in between them when they start fighting Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post

Its down to knowing your dogs and there ways and temprements, trying to not let situations develope ect. There are more bad rearers and owners than dogs imo. What are you trying to say ?
