Cochyn 0
My bitch has had diarrhoea for the last five days. It is improving in that she's not crapping as much now, but there's still no form at all to her motions. She has bags of energy and her appetite has now returned so I'm not overly concerned. She's 7 months and I feed her on raw meat and offal, rice, pasta, small amouts of veg, sometimes biscuits and occasionally raw mackerel. A few of the old school boys I go out with reckon it's the diet thats affecting her. I'd appreciate some of your opinions.

wippydoo 12
raw mackerel might be causing the scours mackerel is a very oily fish.give her some egg white whipped up and add a bit of honey to taste.that will bind her up.after that you can give her some plain yogurt(the probiotic type)to put some good bacteria back in her gut so if theres any infection there it will destroy it and replace with good bacterium
Cochyn 0
Thanks both. I had given her a whole mackerel the night before it started... Been giving her scrambled egg, though not yoghurt - will do though. She's much better today.
WelshDigger 0
what do you have to do to maceral for it to be ready for the dogs to eat
Cochyn 0
what do you have to do to maceral for it to be ready for the dogs to eat I just gut them and give them to the bitch (as advocated in the raw food diets). It hasn't given her the trots in the past and she loves them. Going to keep an eye on her (and what I'm feeding) and if she has any problems with it again, I'll cut it out. Come to think of it, it was the first time she'd been given a whole one. Thanks.
